New scan could spot hidden kidney cancer after treatment

NCT ID NCT07077083

Summary

This study is testing whether a new type of PET scan using a special tracer called 89Zr-girentuximab can better detect leftover or returning kidney cancer after initial treatment. Researchers want to see if this scan is more accurate than current imaging methods at finding cancer that remains or comes back. The study involves 10 adults with clear cell renal cell carcinoma who will receive the tracer injection followed by PET scans.
