New scan aims to solve key puzzle in cancer treatment
NCT ID NCT03584334
Summary
This study tested a special type of PET scan to see if it could solve a common problem in cancer immunotherapy. For patients with advanced lung cancer or melanoma, the scan aimed to tell the difference between the cancer actually growing versus harmless inflammation that just looks like growth on regular scans. The goal was to help doctors make better decisions about whether to continue or change a patient's immunotherapy treatment.
