Scientists map Brain's dopamine system in major disorders

NCT ID NCT00024622

Summary

This study used special brain scans (PET scans) to measure dopamine activity and blood flow in the brains of healthy volunteers, people with Parkinson's disease, and people with schizophrenia. Researchers compared these measurements across groups to better understand how dopamine systems differ in these conditions. The goal was to gather knowledge about brain function, not to test treatments.
