New scan aims to pinpoint hidden thyroid cancer
NCT ID NCT02856347
Summary
This study tested a new type of PET scan to see if it could better find leftover thyroid cancer cells in patients who still had signs of disease after surgery. Researchers compared the new scan to standard imaging tests in 24 patients to see which method was more accurate at locating cancer. The goal was to improve detection so doctors could better decide if a patient needed more surgery or just monitoring.
