New scan aims to sharpen attack on Fast-Growing brain tumors

NCT ID NCT05608395

Summary

This study tested if a special type of PET scan could help doctors plan more effective radiation treatment for patients with a very aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma. The scan uses a radioactive tracer called 11C-methionine to better see where the active tumor is growing. Researchers compared outcomes for 33 patients who received this scan to guide their radiation plan against historical data from patients who did not.
