New imaging technique could predict stroke risk in patients with clogged arteries

Summary
This study uses a special PET-MR scan to look at plaque buildup in the carotid arteries of people who have narrowing but no symptoms. The goal is to see if the scan can predict who might have a stroke or need surgery later. Researchers will follow 80 adults for up to 18 months to track their health outcomes.
