New imaging tracer could reveal hidden lung inflammation

NCT ID NCT03492762

First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a new PET imaging tracer that binds to inflammatory cells in the lungs of people with fibrotic lung diseases. Researchers want to see if the tracer can track inflammation and compare it to CT scans and tissue samples. The goal is to better understand lung inflammation, not to treat it. About 110 adults who are either non-smokers or current smokers will participate.
