HIV mystery: why do some patients worsen after starting meds?

Summary

This study looks at why some people with HIV develop new or worse symptoms soon after starting HIV medications, a condition called IRIS. Researchers will use PET scans, blood tests, and lymph node biopsies to track inflammation and immune recovery in 300 adults. The goal is to learn the causes of IRIS and find better ways to prevent and treat it.
