First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether a special type of PET scan (called 18F-DOPA PET-CT) can find brain metastases as well as or better than the standard MRI. Researchers looked at 32 patients with lung cancer, breast cancer, or melanoma who had untreated brain metastases. The goal was to see if this PET method could improve detection and help guide future treatments.
