Smart scans and DNA tests guide lymphoma treatment

NCT ID NCT06069830

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new way to treat a rare type of nasal lymphoma (NK/T cell lymphoma) by using PET scans and blood tests for the Epstein-Barr virus to decide the best treatment plan. About 89 newly diagnosed patients will receive a combination of chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy tailored to their test results. The goal is to see if this personalized approach can improve how long patients live without their cancer coming back.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Pegaspargase, etoposide, dexamethasone, and PD-1 monoclonal antibody

What this could lead to

If successful, this approach could lead to more personalized and effective treatment for localized nasal NK/T cell lymphoma, potentially improving survival rates.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase study (89 participants) without a control group, so results may not be definitive. The treatment involves chemotherapy and immunotherapy, which carry risks like infection and organ damage.
