Summary
This study looks at whether a booster vaccine for whooping cough (pertussis) can reduce the amount of bacteria in the nose after intentional exposure. About 99 healthy adults who were vaccinated as children will receive either a pertussis booster or a control vaccine, then be exposed to the bacteria in a controlled setting. Researchers will track who gets colonized and how their bodies respond over 28 days.
