First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests whether using lung ultrasound to customize breathing machine settings can lower the death rate in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), a severe lung condition. About 538 adults on ventilators will be assigned to either standard care or ultrasound-guided care. The goal is to see if personalized ventilation reduces deaths within 90 days.
