Health check tailors cancer transplant for seniors

NCT ID NCT04761770

Summary

This study is testing whether a detailed health assessment can help doctors personalize the intensity of a stem cell transplant for older adults (age 60+) with certain blood cancers. The assessment looks at factors like thinking skills, physical ability, and mood to decide if a patient should get a stronger or gentler pre-transplant treatment. The goal is to better control the cancer while aiming to reduce serious side effects and improve quality of life.
