First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) can reduce feelings of loneliness in people with subthreshold depression (mild depression that doesn't meet the full criteria for major depression). Researchers will give multiple sessions of personalized tDCS and measure changes in loneliness, mood, and anxiety. The study aims to enroll 204 adults with no major psychiatric disorders.
