Tailored surgery could end One-Size-Fits-All approach to vulvar cancer
NCT ID NCT05576831
Summary
This study aims to improve treatment for vulvar cancer by personalizing surgery based on the tumor's characteristics. Researchers will test whether using HPV and p53 test results to guide how much tissue to remove leads to better cancer control and fewer side effects. The goal is to move away from a single surgical approach, potentially reducing overtreatment for some patients and ensuring more aggressive treatment for others who need it.
