Cancer trial tests lower radiation to spare patients harsh side effects

Summary
This study is testing whether a personalized approach using a special PET scan to select patients for lower radiation doses works as well as standard high-dose radiation for HPV-positive throat cancer. Researchers want to see if this approach causes fewer side effects while maintaining the same survival rates. The trial will enroll 291 adults with early-stage HPV-positive throat cancer who haven't had prior treatment.
