Could your Child's genes hold the key to safer pain relief after surgery?

NCT ID NCT05367609

Summary

This study aims to see if a child's genetic makeup can help doctors predict how they will respond to strong pain medications after major spine surgery. Researchers will enroll 300 children and teens to see if specific genes are linked to side effects like breathing problems, nausea, or poor pain control. The goal is to use this information to create a system for giving the right dose of the right drug to each child.
