Tailored nutrition after trauma: can a custom diet boost recovery?

NCT ID NCT06065202

First seen Nov 24, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether a personalized nutrition plan helps people recover physical function after serious abdominal injury and surgery. About 150 ICU patients who need nutrition through an IV will be randomly assigned to either the new plan (which includes special shakes for 4 weeks after leaving the hospital) or standard care. Researchers will measure walking distance, strength, and quality of life to see if the tailored approach leads to better recovery.
