Could your genes guide your meds? new study aims for safer prescriptions

NCT ID NCT03225820

Summary

This study is testing a new system that gives doctors genetic information about their African American patients to help them prescribe medications more safely and effectively. Researchers will see if this system is useful in hospitals and if it specifically improves outcomes for patients taking the common blood thinner warfarin. The goal is to reduce health disparities by making sure medication guidance works well for minority populations.
