Personalized chemo selection could improve treatment for abdominal cancers

NCT ID NCT07291180

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study is testing a new method called mass-based response testing (MRT) to help doctors choose the best chemotherapy drugs for people with advanced appendix or colorectal cancer that has spread to the lining of the abdomen. About 20 participants will have a small sample of their tumor tested to see which drugs work best, and then receive heated chemotherapy directly into the abdomen during surgery. The goal is to see if this personalized approach is practical and can lead to better treatment choices.
