Genetic test could tailor heart medication, aiming to prevent future heart attacks

NCT ID NCT03783351

Summary

This study is testing if using a genetic test to choose between two common blood-thinning drugs is better for patients who get a heart stent. About 4,000 participants who received a stent for a heart condition will be assigned to either get a drug based on their genetics or based on standard doctor's choice. The goal is to see if the genetic approach leads to fewer heart attacks, strokes, or deaths over one year while also being safe.
