Scientists grow Patients' tumors in mice to test cancer drugs

NCT ID NCT07226180

Summary

This study aims to help doctors choose cancer treatments by testing drugs on lab-grown versions of patients' own tumors. Researchers take leftover tissue from routine biopsies or surgeries and grow it in special laboratory mice. They then test multiple anti-cancer drugs on these grown tumors to see which ones work best. The results are shared with the patient's oncologist to help inform treatment decisions, but this is an observational study that doesn't directly treat patients.
