Scientists test custom therapy plans to help nonverbal kids find their voice

NCT ID NCT03883139

Summary

This study is testing a personalized, two-step approach to help preschoolers with autism who speak very few words develop better language skills. It compares different teaching methods and adjusts the plan based on how each child responds early in treatment. The goal is to find the best sequence of therapies to lower the chance a child will still be minimally verbal by age 6.
