Watchful waiting: new study tracks rare tumor growth without immediate treatment

NCT ID NCT01801176

First seen Apr 11, 2026

Summary

This study followed 100 adults with a rare, non-cancerous tumor called peripheral primitive fibromatosis. Instead of treating everyone right away, doctors monitored patients closely to see how the tumors behaved over three years. The goal was to learn which factors might predict tumor growth and to record what treatments were used if the tumor got worse.
