First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tests a new AI system (PerioAI V2.0) that combines 3D dental scans and X-rays to create detailed maps of gum disease. Researchers will enroll 80 adults with moderate-to-severe periodontitis to see if the AI can accurately identify bone defects and help plan surgery. The goal is to replace older, less precise methods with a data-driven tool for better treatment outcomes.
