Gum inflammation may slow mouth healing, small study suggests

NCT ID NCT04805320

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at how inflammation in the gums affects the body's immune response during wound healing after a tooth is pulled. Researchers will measure gum health before extraction, take small tissue samples right after and again two weeks later, and check healing at three months. The goal is to understand the connection, not to test a new treatment.
