Could a nerve zap fix leaky bladders? new study explores

NCT ID NCT05900570

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This early study looks at whether stimulating nerves near the urethra can increase pressure inside it, which might help women with stress urinary incontinence (leaking urine when coughing, sneezing, or exercising). About 20 women with SUI will have a short stimulation session while doctors measure urethral pressure. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and worth studying further.
