Dental study tests if extra surgical layer helps save failing implants

NCT ID NCT05699343

ENROLLING_BY_INVITATION Disease control Sponsor: Andrea Ravida Source: ClinicalTrials.gov ↗

Summary

This study aims to find the better way to surgically treat peri-implantitis, a condition where bone deteriorates around a dental implant. It will compare two methods in 52 patients: placing a bone graft material alone versus placing the same graft covered with a resorbable collagen membrane. The goal is to see if the extra membrane leads to better bone healing and implant stability over five years.
