First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This observational study will use a non-invasive brain-computer interface and artificial intelligence to detect and record brain activity in 20 terminally ill adults immediately after clinical death but before brain death. The goal is to understand if organized cognitive signals occur during this period. Participants must have a do-not-resuscitate order and a surrogate decision-maker. No treatment or intervention is provided.
