ER study tests smarter way to diagnose dangerous blood clots
NCT ID NCT07313501
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looks at two simple checklists (PERC and YEARS) to see if they can safely rule out a blood clot in the lungs without needing a CT scan. Researchers will review records of 500 adults who came to the emergency room with possible clots. If these tools work well, they could speed up care and reduce radiation exposure from unnecessary scans.
