First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study reviews medical records of 500 adults who came to the emergency room with possible pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in the lungs). Researchers want to see if using two checklists, called PERC and YEARS, could have safely avoided CT scans in many patients. The goal is to speed up diagnosis and reduce unnecessary radiation and testing.
