Can a peptide cream speed up skin repair?

NCT ID NCT07614698

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a cream containing Acetyl Hexapeptide-37 helps the skin barrier recover faster after being slightly damaged by tape-stripping. Thirty healthy adults will apply the peptide cream on one forearm and a placebo on the other. Researchers will measure water loss, hydration, and redness to see if the active cream works better.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Acetyl Hexapeptide-37

What this could lead to

If it works, this could point toward a new ingredient for creams that help repair skin after minor damage.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early study on healthy people, not patients. The effect may be small or no better than a plain moisturizer.
