Common drug tested as potential kidney protector

NCT ID NCT07315139

Summary

This study tested whether pentoxifylline, a medication typically used for circulation problems, could reduce inflammation and slow kidney disease progression in non-diabetic patients. Researchers enrolled 42 adults with moderate to severe chronic kidney disease but without diabetes. They measured inflammatory markers to see if the drug could help control the disease.
