First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This pilot study tested whether adding inhaled methoxyflurane (Penthrox) to local anesthetic reduces pain and anxiety during urology procedures like hydrocele repair or testicular biopsy. Forty adult patients were randomly assigned to receive either local anesthetic alone or with Penthrox. The main goal was to measure pain scores during the numbing injection and the procedure itself.
