First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study compared two ways to manage pain after total hip replacement: a newer ultrasound-guided nerve block (PENG block) and the standard surgical infiltration. 224 adults having hip replacement took part. The goal was to see which method reduces the need for strong painkillers like morphine, especially in older patients who are more prone to side effects.
