New pain block combo may ease hip surgery recovery

Summary

This study tests whether adding a second nerve block to the standard one can better control pain after hip replacement surgery. Forty adults having hip replacement will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard block or the standard plus an extra block. Researchers will measure pain levels and painkiller use over the first 24 hours after surgery.
