Magnetic pulses aim to heal sore achilles tendons
NCT ID NCT06969859
First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests whether a device that sends gentle magnetic pulses (PEMF) can reduce pain and improve function in people with mid-portion Achilles tendinopathy—a common overuse injury causing heel pain and stiffness. About 200 adults with ultrasound-confirmed tendon thickening and low symptom scores will receive either active PEMF or a sham device, plus standard exercises. Researchers will track pain, function, and tendon health for up to 12 months.
