NCT ID NCT07237165

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a non-invasive electrical stimulation technique can reduce chronic pelvic pain. Sixty adults with pelvic pain for over a year will be randomly assigned to one of two active stimulation methods or a placebo. The treatment involves daily sessions for a week, then weekly sessions for a month. Researchers will track pain levels using a simple 0-10 scale to see if the stimulation provides meaningful relief.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

direct current stimulation (a gentle electrical current applied via electrodes on the skin)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a new, non-drug option for people with hard-to-treat pelvic pain.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with no results yet. The effect may be no better than placebo, and benefits may not last long-term.
