Summary

This study tests a peer-led program called PEGISUS for young people aged 16-24 in vocational training in Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa who use alcohol or drugs weekly. Participants join nine group sessions focused on reducing substance use and promoting fair gender beliefs. The program is compared to standard training and healthcare referrals. The goal is to see if peer education can help control substance use and improve gender equality.
