Summary

This study is testing if a peer counseling program can help people who use drugs check their drugs for dangerous substances and adopt safer habits to prevent overdoses. It will involve 588 adults in San Diego who use opioids or methamphetamine. The goal is to see if this support reduces fatal and non-fatal overdoses over 30 months.
