Breaking Stigma's grip: peers guide women to HIV prevention

NCT ID NCT04680390

Summary

This study tested a program where trained peer guides helped women on probation in San Francisco get connected to HIV prevention services. The goal was to see if this support could reduce the stigma these women face and make it easier for them to start and stay on a daily pill called PrEP, which greatly lowers the risk of getting HIV. The program was developed with input from the women themselves and probation staff.
