Peers in recovery may hold key to easing depression for those battling addiction
NCT ID NCT07219394
Summary
This study aims to see if people recovering from mental health or substance use problems, when trained, can effectively help others with depression and addiction. It will test a talk-based therapy called Behavioral Activation, delivered by these 'peer recovery specialists', in 250 adults at a community health clinic. The main goal is to see if this approach reduces depression symptoms and is practical to use in real-world, low-resource settings.
