NCT ID NCT04982250

First seen Nov 03, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study tested a new way to help young women in Kenya start taking PrEP, a daily pill that prevents HIV. Women already on PrEP were trained to refer their friends and give them HIV self-test kits. The goal was to see if this peer-led approach would get more young women at high risk to start PrEP compared to just word-of-mouth. The study involved 211 participants and was completed.
