Former addicts helping others kick smoking habit

Summary
This study tests whether peer coaches who have recovered from both opioid and tobacco addiction can help others quit smoking. Sixty adults receiving medication for opioid use disorder will be assigned to receive either standard smoking cessation coaching or coaching from a trained peer. All participants will also receive nicotine replacement therapy (like patches). The goal is to see if peer support makes quitting smoking more feasible and effective for this group.
