Breath of hope: new CPR technique aims to bring more cardiac arrest victims back to life
NCT ID NCT06939335
Summary
This study is testing if adding a gentle, constant pressure to the lungs during CPR (called PEEP) helps restart the heart and improves survival for adults who suffer a cardiac arrest outside the hospital. Researchers will compare standard CPR to CPR with this added pressure to see which leads to more people regaining a heartbeat and surviving with good brain function. The goal is to find a simple, safe adjustment to emergency care that could save more lives.
