Doctors watch Kids' stomachs during surgery to see how breathing pressure affects them

NCT ID NCT06426394

Summary

This study observed how a specific breathing pressure setting used during anesthesia affects the amount of fluid left in children's stomachs during minor surgery. Researchers used ultrasound to measure stomach contents in 90 healthy children aged 1-11 having outpatient procedures. The goal was to gather information to help anesthesiologists understand if this common pressure setting influences stomach volume or breathing machine pressures.
