Seeking safer drug mix for kids battling HIV and TB

NCT ID NCT05069688

Summary

This study aims to understand how two key drugs, dolutegravir and rifampicin, interact in the bodies of young children who have both HIV and tuberculosis (TB). Researchers will measure drug levels in 20 children under 6 years old in Nigeria to see if a higher dose of the TB drug is safe and effective when given with the HIV medication. The goal is to gather data to help doctors prescribe the best possible doses for children with this dangerous combination of infections.
