Natural painkiller PEA takes on ibuprofen in kidney stone recovery trial

NCT ID NCT07316660

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests if palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), a natural pain-relieving substance, works as well as ibuprofen for pain after a non-surgical kidney stone procedure. About 120 adults will receive either PEA or ibuprofen, and their pain levels will be tracked for 24 hours. The goal is to find a safer alternative for people who cannot take standard painkillers.
