Heart hole linked to stroke risk in lung clot patients?

Summary
This study looks at whether people who have a pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in the lungs) are more likely to have a stroke if they also have a small hole in their heart, called a PFO. About 1 in 4 people have this hole, which can let a clot travel from the veins to the brain. Researchers will follow 256 adults for 90 days, using brain scans and ultrasound to track strokes and silent brain injuries. No treatments are tested—this is an observation-only study.
