Light therapy before nose surgery may slash infection risk

NCT ID NCT06731881

First seen Jun 14, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026

Summary

This study tests a special light treatment (photodynamic therapy) given inside the nose just before surgery to see if it can prevent infections. About 80 adults having nose surgery will either get the light treatment or a placebo swab. The main goal is to see if fewer people need antibiotics for infections within 30 days after surgery.
